Awww I wanted to watch Arang. But I'll watch it anyway. xD Yaaay predictable asian horror. *sigh* It's sad because it's such a great genre but everyone's ripping each other off.
And I plan on watching Bloody Reunion soon.

I watched the most incredible movie ever. =) BILLY ELLIOT. -explodes- I know it's been out for like 9 years almost, but I'd never seen it! And it was on TV last night and I imploded. My mom's boyfriend and I were cheering every time Michael and Billy got a kiss in. =3 Mom was slightly weirded out.

I'd like to inform you that all the males (save Charlie and Bily of course) were sexy. Oh, except for that one guy...what was his name...OHRIGHT ROBERT PATTINSON. *ahem*
Anyway...I watched I Am Legend last night. Just because I'm reading the book, and I wanted to compare (hinthint, the two only share a title).

Lol! You have a point there, Tarmika. ;3 They really were.
And yes, the book and the movie were totally different! But both were pretty awesome. I did like the book better, as usual, but the movie made me sniffle.

Ehhh I didn't really like I Am Legend. I would be interested in reading the book, though.

I quite like the book and the movie. I might have mentioned my extreme love of Will Smith before, I'm not sure...

Hellboy :: Uhmm. Stupid plot. Stupid characters. Stupid ineffective one-liners. Predictable.
But hey, it had some spiffy CGI stuff goin' on.
Babel :: Wow. WOOOOOOW. This movie was, just.... Wow. In a good way. But wow, intense.

The Mummy (the china one).
I have to say I was disappointed with this one. I love Brendan Frasier, and I liked both of the other Mummy movies, but this one was not that good. The backgrounds were gorgeous, and I liked the way they did the Yeti. The backstory could have made an interesting movie, but they diluted the movie with too many subplots that did nothing but distract from the main story, and give the entire movie a choppy feel. The actor they brought in to play Alex overdid melodrama, but lacked any depth to the character, and I'm not really sure if that was the actor or the scripting. Worse, the actress they brought in to play Evie in this one changed the portrayal of the character that was so much a part of what made the first two movies work. She may be a fine actress, but she failed to capture the absent minded, accident prone, and almost naive enthusiasm that made the character so endearing and entertaining. This seriously disrupted the chemistry between the two main characters, and the banter between Frasier's character and his brother-in-law just wasn't strong enough to make it feel like the cast was hanging together. It also lacked the fast paced action/adventure feel of the first two movies, to the point where I took a nap during the latter half of the film.
The martial arts scenes were superbly choreographed, as always with a Jet Li film, unfortunately, the rest of the movie felt choreographed too, and not nearly as well as the fights. Not bad enough to make me wish my hours back, but I'm glad I didn't waste the money on the theater.

Voice- Kinda typical asian horror.
Not so much on the scary side, more mystery. The acting was really good and it seemed like it had enough of a budget to keep my love for effects happy. while not going over the top.
The end was disappointing. and I was left a bit confused through a good part of it.
But overall for the Genre, I give it a 8.
The Bridge- IFC documentary about people jumping off the golden gate bridge. other than seeing the people jump, and the one guy that lived I was bored. I'm not morbid, I find death fascinating.
Linda Linda Linda- Good girl bonding movie. It was kinda funny but entertaining no matter what. They actually sing and play the instruments unlike most movies so I recommend it just for that. The song will be stuck in your head for a day or so.

Mama Mia -
Okay, I hate musicals. That being said, I decided to watch this one for the sheer fact that it had Pierce Brosnon singing and dancing. I was pleasantly surprised to find I actually enjoyed the film. It was a pretty typical story, with a few interesting and entertaining twists. And of course, you had to suspend disbelief to accept that these folks were breaking into song every few minutes. However, a lot of the musical numbers also fit the story line, the performances were well done, and I have to admit it was kind of hilarious the way they worked the chorus into a few of the scenes. If you like musicals in general, you'll probably really enjoy this movie. If you don't like musicals, it's probably still worth the watch.
Death Race -
Jason Statham is a little hit or miss for me. His first film, Transporter, was an okay action flick, but the ones he did after that all seemed to go down hill. After sitting through Crank, and not only wishing my time back but feeling they owed me interest, I wasn't sure I'd ever watch another thing he was in. Since then, he's done the Bank Job, which was pretty decent, and War, which was also pretty good, so I was hopeful, but not overly so when I sat down for this one. The premise is kind of corny, a cross between Running Man and Carmaggedon. But, the script was pretty decent, the acting was alright, and the action was outstanding. If you like high action, big explosion, the wronged underdog kicking the butt of the evil jerks in control, it's worth seeing, and pretty enjoyable.

I really liked Crank. It made me laugh a lot and kept my interest as far as action flicks go.
Personal opinions though, I guess.
