Okay. Background info time! My science teacher has memory problems and she should seek professional help.
She would often forget to tell us what in the hell she wants until the day something is due, and she tells different classes different things. And she doesn't teach! Before her, I didn't think it was possible to talk about nothing for 30 minutes. I've been proven wrong. And when I don't zone out and actually try to listen to what she's saying, I try to make a connection between her words and what she's trying to say, but I can't. What she says makes no sense.
And one time she told us "Dalton made the Law of Definite Proportions, and Proust made the Law of Multiple Proportions." And 10 minutes later she says "Dalton made the Law of Multiple Proportions, and Proust made the Law of Definite Proportions." We were all like "What? You said something else earlier!" But we didn't say it right to her face because we knew it was useless. And she didn't hear us.
Anyway she gave me a 63 on a lab because I made one mistake. When she was teaching us about electronic configuration, she told us that we could put it in filling order or just number order. I put it in filling order, but I guess she didn't want that. She took off points for EVERY SINGLE TIME I made that ONE "mistake".
Ugh.
Oh well, I have 7 weeks to bring my grade up. So 'tis all good.

ARG. That's so annoying. I hate it when teachers are like that! I thankfully don't have any like that this year, but.. ugh! -cuddles-

ARRRRGH yeah. x( She thinks she's one of those "hard-core", amazing, hard teachers too. But we don't LEARN anything in her class we only learn from the book. Not to mention my statistics teacher gets mad when people ask her questions.
Uggghh. This year sucks.

I had a science teacher like that my junior year for AP physics no less. I got sick part way through the first semester, and couldn't catch up because each time I came to class he was saying something different than the time before, about exactly the same thing. I finally had to drop the class second semester. I was totally bummed, and then, instead of Auto Mechanics they made me take Fashion Design to fill out my schedule. Uuugg.

Hay guys, As much as that sucks, and it dose, you can do little but deal with it. Perhaps that is a more useful life lesson then any of the crap you are going to memorize until test time, then quickly forget half of it. Dealing the best way possible with under qualified leaders is going to be a never ending endeavor. When you get done with school, you have those idiot bosses and senior coworkers to deal with, your local cop who can not find his badge with both hands and so on. So have fun, and let her know how much you have enjoyed her coarse on dealing with faulty leaders, but you may wait until you are done with that class. Or not, she might just forget what you told her by the next day.

Doesn't mean we can't, at least, rant about it. I seriously doubt you don't complain about the government or your superiors or whatever. Plus, I'm not sure if this ever occurred to you, but the subjects these horrible teachers teach...might come useful one day. You know, when you go to college and get degrees and stuff and actual jobs, yeah? So maybe we shouldn't just "deal with it" and actually say or do something.
I had a lovely hag who was like that. She never really taught us anything. My friend taught me whatever I couldn't get from reading the textbook. But she would repeat herself and think that we all can't learn anything because we don't pay attention to her, when she really couldn't teach. She refused to explain any of the chemical reactions, always citing that there wasn't enough time. She would also assign us homework problems that we haven't covered yet and then mark us off if we didn't do them. So, yeah, I know what you mean, keyo.

Caunion, I smell smoke. Your words seem a bit hot. I never said you couldn't rant about it. I simply meant look on the bright side and all that. There is little that a guy can do but deal with the situation. There is a number of ways to deal with it, but it sounds like no one is going to change some of these teachers. Am I wrong here? Did I say something offensive here? Did I misunderstand you above post? Besides, Anyone who reads my post knows how I feel about the Government. I do complain about my boss all the time ( I am self employed!) So anyhow, whats with the heat?

Teachers no longer need to compete for their jobs, at least in public (government supplied) schools. This is why parents should get to choose the school their kids go to. The better schools would get more money, thus forcing all schools to cut dead weight if they want to stay in business. However, even in trade schools and collages, bad teachers can slip through, and stay. In my first year at a trade school, my instructor, who came from the Boeing machine shop and new his stuff, turned out to be a horrible teacher. I learned many of the tools of the trade and how to use them from the other students, most of who worked in machine shops and were taking the coarse for the certification. At least by the end of the first year the students taught him enough that he was becoming a competent teacher as well as a good machinist.
My second year teacher was the person responsible for getting me into the top 10 percent of the class. He was an old time machinist as well as a gunsmith, and chose to show movies like "the Gunsmith of Williams burg" in his class to demonstrate proper use of heat treating. He and I hit it off good, and I landed a good internship at a job shop.
As it turned out, I do not like working at machine shops, though I love machining and making stuff. Any how, I went from almost quitting to being in the top ten just because of the teacher.
If I had been more mechanically inclined, I could have gone far, but I can not even change the brakes on our car, but I guess that is what wives are for! My wife changes the brakes and dose the oil stuff and that is fine with me. I will stick to keeping the guns in working order.

Yeah, it's amazing how much of a difference a teacher can make.
ALRIGHT. ANOTHER RANT.
So my friend asked my teacher a couple days before the test about lattice energy. Our teacher told her that the more negative lattice energy is, the weaker it is. Oh, and then she tells someone else the exact opposite. WTF? And then someone asked if a question in the book was true or false and she's like "Yes! Yes!" NOT A YES OR NO QUESTION RETARD.
-hyperventilate-
And science fair projects are due soon, and apparently she even fails people that go to the state level. Because she says she looks for "different things" than the judges do. Oh and she tells us one day before the weekend that it's due that we're supposed to put times in our log book and put annotated bibliography for everything you mention from another source, no putting it in a list in the front or anything. Yeah. When did you plan on telling us this?
Ughhh. I can't wait until my junior year when I don't have her.

Ugh I had a geometry teacher that was like that. She'd say one thing then five minutes say something else then when someone asked her about it she'd say a whole different thing. I ended up just reading the book in her class and zoning her out, which she got mad at because I wasn't "paying attention" and she took it out in my participation. I ended up getting a B in her class, my only B in a math class D: Needless to say I was the only one who passed save two people that got a D and one a C.

Ughhh that's annoying. Our teacher's stupid so she never really notices. Lmfao.
AND OMG. I got an 80 on her test. Maybe if I studied just THIRTY MORE FRIKKING MINUTES I would've gotten at LEAST one point higher and MY AVERAGE WOULDN'T BE A FRIKKING 89.4 !#&^(@$@#*&@(# Or maybe if I put the date on one of my labs which she counted off five points for or if I didn't change ink color on that lab in the beginning that she counted off five points for I WOULD HAVE AT LEAST AN 89.5.
Now I have to take the freaking mid-term which I could've exempted because I had good attendance just to bring up my grade ONE TENTH OF A FREAKING POINT.
GAHHH. -rips out her hair-

OMG .... AHHH I CAN RELATE. (ps.. im the friend who asked her about lattice energy-she just freaking nods her head... Q: true or false.. yes.. no... WTF!! and then she tells us to go by what the book said, not her. argh) And now, she hands us a packet and tells us to just do it... WTF. U never taught us how to finish chem equations!!!! My grade is freaking on the border..and i can't risk this exam. Btw.. sorry keyodie Here are some cookies for you.

Hehehe yaaaay cookies! *munch munch munch* And UUGHHH I know! I kind of get it, but only because I read the section in the book like 5 times. Ughhh. And I really need to get a good grade this chapter, I can't believe I got an 80 on that last test. But that's probably because I fell asleep while I was studying for it and had to study at school.

Haha... well to prevent sleepiness during her class, try doing the huge buttload of history we have. It's not like you have to pay attention in chem.. just read the chapter. And I really don't get it... but that's prly cuz I have yet to fully read the chapter Oh well... cram time the night before!

Hahaha exactly.
Maaan. What else could we do with all that time we waste in chem? Probably find a cure for cancer.
