Mezzrel: A world filled with peace-loving people, a serene enviornment, and beauty everywhere. Everyone is happy, content, and unquestioning. Ignorant.
That is all about to change.
A small group of people scattered all over Mezzrel share a common property: They aren't the norm. The rulers of Mezzrel's largest city, Berngth, ordered their strong forces to kidnap these people for fear that they would rebel and corrupt their perfect society. They condemn these people as heretics or witches and begin to burn them at the stake one by one, attempting to gain even more control by showing the others what happens when you question, when you think and do independently. They fear these people, these different people. And rightly so.
What the men in power do not realize is that they underestimate their captives as well as the people under their rule. A rebellion is about to begin.
**Note: Some ideas for why your character would be considered "different": They are autistic, have a genetic defect of some sort that is obvious from the outside, have superior strength/intelligence, engage in strange activities, etc. Try not to make it too terribly unrealistic.
**Some other names for towns to use later: Neurwyn (Any other ideas? Let me know.)
-Berngth: Largest and most powerful city of Mezzrel
-Myrn: Hometown of Czereth (pansy) and Lyra (keyodie)
**The setting is in the Medieval Period (knights, castles, swords, arrows, etc.) in a fictional/fantasy world (magic and mythical creatures included). The RPG will start before the people are kidnapped from their homes.
Rules:
1. No godmoding.
2. No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus.
3. No one-liners. Try to make your posts substantial, they move along the story better.
4. Capitalization, spelling, and grammar is needed. (Try your best. )
5. Distinguish any comments/suggestions you have that isn't part of the RPG with parenthesis or brackets.
6. Discuss with the other RP'ers before adding a major plot twist or turn.

pansy
Name:Czereth
Age: Roughly twenty three or twenty four. He stopped paying attention to his birthday long ago.
Gender/Sexuality: Male/Straight
Race: Human
Appearence: Coming in at about 5' 11", Czereth certainly isn't one of the tallest men in the village. He's pretty lean, about 54kg or thereabouts, depending on the season and how much he's been able to eat. He's got a lean face as well, with thin lips and dark eyebrows. His hair is a chocolate color, falling to his chin, which generally has a bit of stubble upon it as well as his cheeks. Perhaps one of his most striking features is the pair of deep silvery-grey eyes that he possesses. They stand out, and often unnerve others who don't know him.
Skills: Czereth is skilled at archery, mainly. He can split an apple balanced on a maiden's head from a fair distance away, and when it comes to hunting he is a natural. He often brings in small game for himself, but during the winter, when it is more difficult to find such things successfully, he sometimes is forced to go hungry.
History: Now, so far, Czereth might seem fairly 'normal', given what society views as such. All of this is about to change. Czereth had a fairly normal childhood, growing up with a pair of loving parents, and a sister, younger, whom he cared for dearly. Her name was Amelie, and he was extremely protective of her. However, as with most villages, there was a raid by bandits. He and Amelie were in town when it happened, and had been ushered into a building by one of them, but soon after he'd been tossed into the street. He'd tried to get back inside to save Amelie, but the door was shut tightly. All he could do was watch at the window as his little sister was raped and murdered before his very eyes.
Czereth was devastated, as one might imagine, and kept to himself mostly after that. This still didn't classify him as 'different'. However, once he was caught 'talking' to his sister, as he claimed, when there was only air before him, people started to look down on him. How normal was it for people to be seeing the 'ghost' of their dead sister?
Personality: Czereth is a bit unusual. He often can be seen talking to who he thinks is his little sister, Amelie. He sees her clear as day, but other people see only air. To him, it is not he who is wrong, but the world. Thus he is a bit reclusive, though he isn't cruel by any means. He's actually nice, so long as those who approach him are nice first.

Name: Lyra (lie-ruh) Gwenthe
Age: 26
Gender/Sexuality: Straight female
Race: Human
Appearence: Lyra has shoulder-length, wavy, messy brown hair that is pulled up in a ponytail mainly for her profession (carpenter) as well as brown eyes to match. She stands approximately 5' 6" tall, which is slightly taller than the average among women her age. She has tanned skin that may resemble that of native tribesmen and her body type would be best described athletic. Her facial features may look good if you look at each feature alone, but put together, she may have what you would call a plain face, and this adjective could probably describe her overall appearence.
Skills: When it comes to swordfighting and archery, she would be considered average. Though she can certainly do a good job defending herself with a sword or bow, she won't blow you away with her ability to do so, and she isn't particularly good at offensive or aggressive fighting. Having lived in her hometown of Myrn as the apprentice of a master carpenter her whole life, she never really had the chance to develop any real ability with weaponry. However, she did develop a lot of strength over the years and can knock you out with her fist any time. Because of her experience in her profession, she is very good with mechanics and construction. She is also good with figuring out how things work, and is good at analyzing situations, things, and people with her logic.
History: For as long as she can remember, Lyra has been taken care of by a nice, old man named John Zimmerman who made his living as a carpenter. There isn't much that she knows about her past, but what she does know is that the Zimmermans and Lyra look nothing alike, and he seems a bit too old to be her father. She regularly attends feasts, celebrations, and get-togethers consisting of John and his son, two daughters, and all his grandchildren. She and his family are very close, but she has always known somehow that they aren't really relatives. She could see it in the way they looked at and talked to her, however subtle it may be. Or maybe there was no indication of this, maybe she just knew. Whatever the case may be, she has been content with her life thus far, and she plans on keeping it that way.
She does not know much about her guardian save for the fact that he seems to be sad whenever she catches him alone, sometimes staring out at the village or thinking deeply with his hands folded and his eyes glued to the floor. She senses that he wants to stay close to her always, and that he is very attached to her. Perhaps that is why he had adopted her as his apprentice in the carpenter's guild of Myrn, where women were scarce.
She had never imagined a life different from what she has currently, and is in denial of John's old age. She would rather not think about that. She enjoys her work and she enjoys her family.
Personality: Over the years, she has had to deal with sexism among the other craftsmen, but most men eventually realize that she is more like them than the women who dress in pretty dresses or make cloth or take care of the house while their husbands work. Not to mention that anyone who lays a hand on her receives a nice blow to the face, and that has been enough to gain the respect of any man thus far. She is social when she is excited or inspired and she has a spontaneous, quirky side. When she walks, you can sense her confidence and apathy towards those that may look down at her. Though she still has her doubts like any human being, this impression is correct for the most part. Despite her plain looks, this air of confidence and her personality makes up for anything she may lack in the beauty department.
