I used to have a whole section for art projects on my old forum, but that died. I decided starting small would be good for now. A thread should suffice. So, post here if you have any art projects you're working on, ideas, etc. You can also post work in progresses and such. You can also post here to give other artists support or to get inspiration when your muse has run away. Later on, I think it'd be cool if we made a thread for a particular project and everyone can participate, but it's not a contest or anything. Right now I'm working on a portrait project. I've done 3 portraits in the past, here is one of them: img230.imageshack.us/img230/4765/emilieic1.jpgAnyway, I'm not very good at realism, and I'm not very good at drawing people and making it look like them. So I'm going to try to draw 12 portraits (key word: try) of 12 different actors/musicians over the course of the year. I still haven't decided on all of the people, but I am definitely doing the following: -Olivia Wilde -Liv Tyler -Emilie Autumn -Natalie Portman -Helena Bonham Carter -Jennifer Connelly -Kristen Bell -Kristen Stewart Maybe: Jared Leto, Edward Norton, Evangeline Lily, Emilie de Ravin, Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Christian Bale, and Johnny Depp Then I'm going to keep all of these in a pile and I'll be able to see how much I've improved. I am also going to try and familiarize myself with more mediums this year, including acryllic, clay (sculpting), jewelry, and maybe even sewing.

That sounds like a good idea, keyo! I'm going to do my annual Natalie Portman portrait, just to see how far I've gone since last year. I'm going to try to work on more Katie Fey portraits but I'll also do some more Owen Harper and other guys. I might do what you're doing, keyo. It sounds so brilliant.

Oh that sounds cool! =O That's a really good idea. x3
Right now I'm working on an oil painting/illustration for the giant wizard's chess scene in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It's for our school library. xP

Okay as of now, these are some ideas I have for drawing.
A portrait of man with cross sections exposing muscle, bone, and the addition of mechanical aspects such as gears and wires. A church looming over a chained and tamed Death A portrait of Katie Fey in one of her more sultry poses A close up of a match being struck by lightning A portrait of a woman holding a love letter and staring at a telephone.
Any comments?
