Article discussion can be a terrific way to spark discussion and promote analysis of specific subjects. It save those of us who are long winded the hassle of restating information that we know someone else, who knows more than we do about the topic, from rewriting a lot of info. It also allows more detailed discussions of specific parts of topics that tend to be huge and wander in the debate/discussion threads.
However, since this is proprietary information, a few guidelines should be observed.
1) You must include a link to the article you are posting. This allows the websites you are getting the information from to continue their revenue streams when people click through.
2) It is okay to post part of the article. Generally, it is acceptable to post two to three paragraphs, followed by the link. The part of the article you post should have the actual title of the article and the by line at the top.
3) Each post should have only one article in it. It is okay to post additional articles in the same thread, but they must be relevant to the specific discussion in that thread. It is also okay, in this section, to post more than one post at a time. For instance, if you have two articles on the same subject that illustrate the point you are trying to make.
4) It is absolutely okay to post articles you've written here. You may post them in their entirety if they have not been published elsewhere, or post them with the same rules as above if they are part of another site.
5) Last, but not least, this is still a discussion/debate board, and free expression is greatly encouraged. But, observe the same rules as you do anywhere else. Be spirited, be forthright, be clear and politically incorrect, but be civil, and most importantly support your argument.
Have Fun!!!
