There are 305,632,877 people in the United States of America. If everyone in the U.S. lined up single file, the line would stretch around the Earth almost 7 times. That's a lot of people. www.howmanyofme.com/Not really an article persay, but still interesting. Do you like your name? If you could pick a different name, what would it be? If or when you have kids, would you give them a simple John Smith or something more interesting?

I've never ever liked my name and have wanted to change it since I was very young. about 10/11 years ago I started using a different name but haven't legally changed it. But I plan too.

Eh, I don't really love my name but I don't hate it either. I'm planning on keeping it. My first name is Melissa -- the 66th most popular first name. My last name is the 2,5874th most popular last name with 1,070 people in the US with the last name.

I kind of like my name. My Dad picked it, so I'm fairly fond of it. I never really went by anything else, except a brief flirtation with the nickname TJ. There's a funny story my dad told me behind how it's spelled though, not sure if it's true or not.
Supposedly, my name was originally supposed to be spelled Terra, as in Earth. When they did the birth certificate, it came in spelled Tera, so my dad sent it back to get it corrected. When it came back Tera again, he gave up, and so it stayed.
Of the more than 300 million people living in the US (that they have statistics for anyway), there are 10,698 people with the same first name, 672 people with the same last name, and exactly no other people with the same both names. Cool, I is unique.
