The Lord of the Rings: 'nuff said. ..well pretty much anything Tolkien gets the thumbs up from me.
1984: A book which pretty much changed my life.
Lord of the Flies: Intense and thought provoking.
Catcher in the Rye: I can't explain what it is about this book that I love so much.
The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons: I know Dan Brown gets a lot of criticism for his work. But I really enjoy it and his books (not just the Langdon books) have really helped me out with my baby brain XD
Viking: Odinn's Child - Just a magnificent story. I really have to get the other books.
Eaters of the Dead - Starts of really boring and drags on with a bit too much detail. But once the story kicks in it's a fantastic read. The movie based on the book, The 13th Warrior is a brilliant adaptation that gets next to know love.

I'm the same. Plus I want to get them in hardback, which is extra expense. Speaking of which, I need to replace my copy of Eaters of the Dead as well..it's one page turn away from disintegrating.

I really need to read Lord of the Flies. And Catcher in the Rye sounds interesting... xD
What is 1984 about?
Oh! Another good book is Animal Farm by George Orwell.

1984 is a book about a totalitarian society. Mass censorship, selected breeding, sex only for reproduction and a society ruled by fear and oppression. Think along the lines of V for Vendetta. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-FourThe wiki page can explain it way better than I could.

Ooo 1984, great book one of my favorites. I also like Brave New World quiet a bit. My favorite book however is Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions. Very short book but it's amazing. Alice in quantumland is also very good, very thought provoking.

My all-time favourite books are Manda Scott's Boudica series.... Very thought-provoking... They're not historical fiction more fictional history if that makes sense.... Basically, they're the Roman Invasion of Britain until the Boudiccan rebellion told from the British point of view and follow the Boudica and her family from when she's 12 years old until her death... I seriously cannot explain how amazing they are... I GET TO MEET HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dies* I am, so, so, soooooo excited! Seriously, give me the choice of meeting Prof.Tolkien back from the dead for one day or meeting Manda Scott, I would go with Manda Scott. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Basically, I only found out a few months ago that she's moved to my county. She's done events around the county in bookshops but the only one I heard about in time and would have been able to go to anyway never happened. (She wanted to do like a book discussion event and Waterstones don't have the room for it and wanted her in for signing so it didn't happen.) But have just found out that next year she's doing an event in one of the county libraries. Now it is nearly an hour's drive in the winter, and it's in the evening but my mother has promised to take me!!!!!! However, I know that I have to go camping for 3 days in February and I know one of the days is a Thursday and I'm seriously hoping that I'm not going to be camping on the Thursday the library event is happening... If it is then I seriously will die because it looks like it's the only event she's doing locally next year and then I'm going to university.. Hopefully the camping won't be... I'll find out tomorrow.... (I can't get out of the camping if it is... plus Mum won't let me skip the camping as it's part of the training for an expedition I'm going on to Madagascar next year.. hmmmm... Snowdonia in February as training for Madagascar in July/August.... not sure how that's working..)
