Lady Dark Moon. why do you say that we, humans, are stupid enough to go to war? Is not war just a further adaptation of our herd like nature? We as a species have simply refined the basic instincts of territorial defense, territorial acquisition, protection of the younger members of the herd, protection of the herds breading stock (fertile females) and of coarse the struggle to be leader of the herd. Do to our superior brain power, humans have been able to refine these basic herd activities to the extreme, but it is still natural to go to war. The unnatural part, the part that really defines us as a species is the idea that we can over come or herd like nature and appeal to other means of defense, acquisition, protection, etc. After all, a hive of bees will kill themselves in an attempt to defend the hive and queen, and never attempt to use diplomacy. In nature, diplomacy is unnatural, the hive instantly going to war in natural. We also have morals, most of us do, and that too in special to humans. This is why we can declare some wars immoral, even if the base causes are perfectly natural.
Just so you do not think I am going to far off topic, the restrictions/ideas that are being used to combat the threat of global warming will cause wars. It is natural for people to want to eat. When we fail to plant wheat so we can grow corn, then use that corn in bio-fuels, thus driving up the price of both eating corn and bread, the poor of the world have a harder time eating. That type of unrest makes war a strong possibility. Not all wars are unjust or stupid, depending on the side you are on, but in the end, all wars are a part of nature. I know that that is a hard pill to swallow.
